教学内容:The Subjunctive Mood
课时:1课时
教学目标:To get to know what is the Subjunctive Mood and learn how to use the Subjunctive Mood.
引入课题:英语的动词一般可带三种不同的语气:陈述语气,祈使语气和虚拟语气。不同的语气用动词的不同形式(有的还借助句法形式)来表示。
(1)陈述语气(The Indicative Mood)用来陈述一个事实,或提出一个看法,有肯定,否定,疑问或感叹等形式。
eg: 1.People get AIDS after having been infected with HIV.
2.Her mother did not know that she had AIDS until after xiaohua was born.
3. What a brave girl!
(2)祈使语气(The Imperative Mood)用来表示请求,邀请,命令,警告或劝告等。
eg: 1.Let me do it.
2.Please keep quiet in reading room.
教学重点:(3)虚拟语气(The Subjunctive Mood)表示说话人所说的话不是事实,而是一种假设,愿望,怀疑或推测。虚拟语气主要用于条件从句,让步从句和名词性从句中。
教学内容:一.虚拟语气在条件从句中的用法:
eg:1. If I had HIV,I would know because I would feel sick.
2.If I were you,I would give an AIDS patient a hug.
3.If we were to panic, we would not be able to help.
二.虚拟语气在宾语从句中的用法:
在wish后面的宾语从句中,谓语常用过去式来表示现在的情况,用过去完成时表示过去的情况用would/could/might+动词原形来表示将来的情况。如:
I wish that she were here with me and that we weren't sick. I wish I had sent the old man to hospital in time.
I wish I could be with you for the next three months.
在demand,suggest,order,propose,request,command,insist等动词后的宾语从句中,谓语通常用should+动词原形或只用动词原形来表示愿望,建议,命令,请求等。
She suggested we (should) leave early.
The teacher insisted that the students(should) have a test.
三.在as if引起的从句中,动词一般用虚拟语气,be通常用were.
People treat me as if I were a dangerous person.
I remember the whole thing as if it happened yesterday.
