硝烟废墟中重生。弥漫的硝烟渐渐散去,当和平于1945年5月降临在欧洲大陆时,饱受战争之苦的德国已是满目疮痍。但是浩劫之后的奥迪人并没有一蹶不振,相反更坚定了他们重建奥迪的决心。以布鲁恩博士、哈恩博土为首的许多原汽车联盟公司的经理和技术骨干同其他工作人员一样都是在逃往西德的队伍中集合在一起的。他们大多数人留在了慕尼黑,因为那里是汽车联盟在战前根基最深的地方。布鲁恩和哈恩觉得时机成熟了,于是决定召集旧部,重建汽车联盟公司。然而,慕尼黑政府的不支持给他们泼了一盆冷水,但他们并未灰心。他们将目光转移到离慕尼黑不远的小城英格施塔特。那里有许多废弃空置的营房和仓库,所受的破坏程度也不大,条件也比较优惠。于是,布鲁恩、哈恩带领人马安营扎寨英格施塔特,同时凭借个人信誉争得了一笔贷款,开始了汽车联盟也就是今天的奥迪公司的第二次创业。当这个令人振奋的消息一传出去,汽车联盟的老员工,从高级经理到装配工人从各地纷纷赶来,他们不计菲薄的工资,忍饥挨饿,每周工作50小时以上,就连当时已81岁高龄的奥迪公司创始人霍希也从家里赶来为复兴出力。而战前汽车联盟的一些经销商也纷纷等着重新代理汽车联盟的产品。―团结就是力量‖让战后一无所有的汽车联盟坚实地迈出了复兴的第一步。1945年底,汽车联盟配件储运公司首先在英格施塔特成立,这为恢复生产整车奠定了基础。1949年9月,新的汽车联盟公司正式在英格施塔特宣告成立,由布鲁恩任总经理。当时的汽车联盟办公设施和生产环境非常简陋,被同行们讥笑为―作坊联盟‖,但无论怎样,历尽千辛万苦的汽车联盟终于在废墟中站了起来却是铁的事实。

突破科技启迪未来。新生的汽车联盟没有让为之奋斗的奥迪人失望,在成立当年就推出了第一批产品——代号为F89L 的面包车和RTl25型摩托车。它们都是在原来的DKW 车型的基础上改进的产品,它们的出现正好顺应了当时西德重建经济的需要,因而在市场上一炮打响。紧接着汽车联盟人开始着手实现多年来的梦想——重新制造轿车。1950年7月,汽车联盟在杜塞尔多夫开始生产战后制造的第一款轿车F89P 。随后相继生产出了马力更大的F91(1953)和在F91基础上改进的名为 ―加长DKW‖ 的P93/F94(1955)。后者在50年代属于德国市场上最受欢迎的轿车。在这一时期,汽车联盟开发了永久全轮驱动技术,并为联邦国防军制造了小型越野车MONGA ,直到1968年,这款车在国防军中仍是主力。

到1958年,汽车联盟已成为继大众、欧宝、奔驰和欧洲福特之后的德国第五大汽车制造企业。但生产规模的不断扩大以及随之而来的所需资金的投入,加上领导对汽车市场的认识还围于观念,使汽车联盟出现危机。而德国工业巨头、人称―经济界的菲特烈大帝‖弗利克的介入,使1958年4月,奔驰完成收购汽车联盟公司的88%的股份,正式将汽车联盟纳入戴姆勒——奔驰集团。通过资产

重组,汽车联盟渡过了难关。1959年,全新DKW―小伙伴‖(即660) 上市,1961年更新的1000SP 双座运动车/敞篷车推出,都在市场上风靡一时。汽车联盟名声再起。

然而,好景不长,汽车联盟与奔驰公司关于企业发展和产品战略上的分歧使汽车联盟又陷入了困境,这一次弗利克又一次扮演了英雄的角色,大众汽车收购了汽车联盟。但是汽车联盟英格施塔持的生产线已全部改为生产大众的甲壳虫汽车,所有汽车联盟的车型全部停产。1965年8月,一个技术天才路德维希·克劳斯改变了汽车联盟“大众”的轨迹,由克劳斯主持的四冲程发动机轿车也研制成功。8月13日,第一辆在英格施塔特制造的奥迪下线。因为它的功率为72马力,所以后来被称之为奥迪72型。尽管它没有投入量产,但奥迪这个响亮的名字从此再度辉煌。继奥迪72型之后,克劳斯等又于1968年秋天推出了大名鼎鼎的奥迪100,从而确立了奥迪品牌的地位。大众看到这一局面,理智地解除了对英格施塔特的开发禁令,支持奥迪车向中高档级别发展。1969年,汽车联盟公司与NSU 汽车公司合并,成立了新的“奥迪NSU 汽车联盟股份公司”。奥迪从此开始成为公司的正式名称。在“突破科技,启迪未来”的口号中,奥迪公司开始步入前所未有的成功时期。继奥迪100之后,汽车联盟在1972,年、1974年分别推出了奥迪80和小型车和奥迪50,在当时倍受欢迎。1973年底,克劳斯功成身退后,费迪南·皮耶希执掌帅印。奥迪从1976年奥迪推出前所未有的5缸发动机开始,实现了一连串的重大技术突破,在二十世纪80年代和90年代锻造出了奥迪技术先进,敢于创新的品牌和产品形象。从80年代末开始,奥迪不断推出令人耳目一新的新车型。1988年V8轿车面世,吹响了进军高级豪华车市场的号角;1991年奥迪100系列车型换代,SPlDER 四驱和AVUS 四驱概念车分别在法兰克福和东京车展上亮相并轰动一时;1994年,显示推出了全铝车身的豪华轿车A8之后,再次将车身全面提升换代,80/90改为A4,100/200改为A6。两年后,奥迪推出紧凑级别A3系列和TT 跑车。1999年,全新的小型车A2系列和越野轿车 “全能四驱”问世。十年内,主力车型由2个系列扩展到5个,几乎覆盖了所有车型级别。 二十世纪90年代是奥迪全球化最快的时期,奥迪在世界范围内不断拓展市场。1998年,奥迪还成功地收购了意大利著名的跑车制造公司兰博基尼和英国赛车发动机公司科斯沃斯。当奥迪公司于1999年迎来百岁大寿时,同时也“赢”来了历史上销量和利润的最高记录。身世沉浮、英雄辈出的奥迪,达到了她前所未有的高峰。她有足够的理由让世界相信,面对未来,奥迪这个百年的汽车王国会用激情和活力再书写二十一世纪的不朽神话。
