我们经常遇到针对某件事情或某种现象进行阐述的文章，通常我们把这些文章归纳到说明文的范畴。说明文以说明为主要表达方式，运用间接明了的文字或数据表格等介绍事物，阐明事理的文章。写这类文章宜少用描写，多用具体详实的材料说明问题，语言简洁准确，条理清楚，讨论问题有重点，切忌面面俱到。说明文的时态主要用一般现在时，也可视实际情况使用一般过去时，现在完成时等。例如：假设你是Jason，根据提示向你的新笔友Lucy写一封信，介绍你的家乡。（提示：先用一句话简要概括你家乡的特色，再较为详细地描述你家乡的旅游景点等，最后以一两句较为简短的话结尾，也可以谈谈你的感想，也可以向Lucy发出邀请。）

Beijing is a city with a long history. There are mang places of interest in it. Now let me tell you some of them..
The Forbidden City is one of the most popular ones for visitors. It is very big and
you can learn much about the history of China from it. The Summer Palace is beautiful and famous, too. The Great Wall is also a wonderful place to go. And Tian’anmen Square is a good place for people to take a walk.
I hope you will come to Beijing one day. And then we can stay together!
