范文:
In the picture, there are five people, in the middle of which is an old man who is crouching. Around the old man are three young men and a young woman, each of whom is in the front of a goal.
I think the picture means that neither of the sons and the daughter will look after their father when he is old. They regard their father as a burden to live with although it is their duty to support parents when they grow up. The old man is like a football, since all of his sons and daughter want to abandon him and keep him far away from themselves.
It is no doubt that this phenomenon is becoming common in modern society, but it is not a good manner for
young people to imitate. Most parents devote all their lives to bring up their children. They give their children everything they have just because of love and hope. They won’t blame you even when you treat them in a bad way. Therefore, it is necessary and compulsory for children to love and take after parents when parents are old.
范文(新东方) Nothing is more despicable than [1] shirking the responsibility for taking care of aged parents in a country noted for its tradition of filial piety. Unfortunately, it is indeed a severe problem in China.[2] As is ironically shown in the cartoon above, the old and infirm father curls into a ball, while[3] his three sons and a daughter are standing before the goals, making every effort to kick the ball away[4].
This shocking picture makes people realize that due attention should be paid to the care of the elderly at home. Simply by glancing at the newspaper, you can easily find reports that some people abandon their parents who are old and incapable of working, leaving them in misery and poverty. Some even mistreat their aged parents who, when they were strong and capable [5] , made painstaking efforts to bring them up. If we allow this trend to continue to grow, it will definitely have a bad influence on our next generation and threatens to[6] destroy our traditional values.
It is imperative for us to take drastic measures. [7] To begin with, we should raise public awareness that respect for old parents and taking care of them are not only obligations of the young, but also traditional virtues of our nation. Therefore, people who shirk this responsibility should be subjected to moral criticism. In addition, laws and regulations should be introduced to punish those who abdicate their responsibilities, and only in this way can our old parents live a safe and happy life in their later years[8] .

范文
A Helpless Father
The picture ironically shows that a pitiable old man in rags is being helplessly kicked off by his three sons and a daughter, who all wear decent clothes. The father’s negligent children are all guarding their home gates lest their old father “roll into” their households. In other words, they four ignore their moral sense of assuming the responsibility for their old father even though they may be all living a satisfying life. That is a painful scene we often encounter in our daily life.
Sad to say, the moral decline of the younger generations may be a rather explosive situation in our modern society. People definitely have their living conditions improved by wider and wider margins, as evidenced by the four children’s decent dressing, but their moral sense still remains sadly unchanged or in some cases becomes dramatically downgrading. Most people might have become too much self-centered, and even worse, they discard the tradition of giving respect to the elderly. They no longer care for their elders, let alone their neighbors or the disadvantaged; instead they try every means to avoid responsibility for other citizens. When one cares for others, one might even appear stupid or may even be distrusted.
Therefore, we have to take some useful measures to avoid the scene that is mentioned above. We must launch a variety of campaigns about the return to the good tradition of giving help and love the elderly. Moreover, we must appeal to our government to establish some relevant laws to punish those who avoid their duties. The last but not the least, our respect for age is an indication of the progress of human society, as imperatives of traditions require. We sincerely wish that the old man could be welcome to any of the four households, elegantly dressed, and a smile on the face.
范文
What a distressing irony to see such a special “football” match! The ball is an old father, and none of the four goal keepers, three sons and a daughter, would let the “ball” go into their goals. The father can do nothing but huddle himself up in the middle of the field. Looking at the picture, I believe, every reader with conscience will feel intensely pained by the pitiful situation of the father and the hardhearted filial impiety of the sons and the daughter.
It is no doubt that the sons and the daughter are to be condemned. Father is the person who has brought them up with great love. How can they treat him so cruelly? Filial piety has been advocated as a traditional Chinese virtue throughout history. Every step of a child s growth, from birth to death, bears so much time and energy of the parents and above all, their unselfish love. So our parents rightly deserve our reward—love, respect, care and support. What s more, family relationship is very much like a mirror. If you smile upon it, it will smile back upon you. By treating our parents kindly, we will set an example for our sons and daughters and gain their respect and love in return.
In a word, it is our innate obligation to be filial to our parents.
