主语和谓语有两种顺序:
主语在前,是自然语序;主语在后,是倒装语序,又分为全部倒装句和部分倒装。
全部倒装:把整个谓语部分放在主语之前。 注意:谓语动词的数要与后面主语保持一致。
1. 用于地点副词here, there, 方位副词out, in, up, down, away及时间副词now, then等开头的句子里,以示强调
铃声响了。 看,他们来了。 倒装要求:主语必须是名词,主语是人称代词时,主语和谓语语序不变。
在这儿。 他走了。 这类倒装句式一般只用一般现代时和一般过去时。
男孩儿们冲了出去。 2. 当表示地点的介词短语放句首时使用全部倒装。
此时谓语多为be, lie, sit, stand, come, walk等不及物动词;倒装时不需要助动词。
桌子地下是三只猫。 塔前面流过一条小溪。 3. there放句首时,要用全部倒装句式。
在 “there+be”结构中的谓语动词有时不用be ,而用表示类似“存在”观念的其他不及物动词。如:live, stand, come, lie, flow, enter, rise和appear 等。
河中传来呼救声。 许多年前在一栋木房子里住着一个老人。
4. 表语置于句首时,倒装结构为“表语+系动词+主语”。 (1) 形容词+系动词+主语
到会的是格林先生,一个校长。
(2) 过去分词+系动词+主语 躲在门后面的是一些顽皮的孩子。
5. 有时由于主语较长,谓语很短,为保持句子平衡,或为了强调表语或状语,或使上下文紧密衔接时。 他们到了一座房子,前面坐着一个老人。
6. 在一些表示祝愿的句子里。

部分倒装: 只把谓语中的系动词、助动词或情态动词置于主语前面,即 系动词、助动词或情态动词+主语+谓语动词。
1. only所修饰的副词,介词短语或状语从句放在句首时,要用: Only+状语+be/助动词或情态动词+主语及其他。 当他告诉我这个新闻的时候我才知道发生了什么。
注意:only 修饰主语时,不需要倒装。
2. 含有否定意义的副词或连词放在句首时。如:never, little, seldom, not, not only, not until, no sooner(…than), hardly(...when), rarely, scarcely, in no means, at no time, in no case等。 我们几乎不会早上四点起床。
注意:hardly...when; Scarcely…when…; no sooner…than…可以用正常语序had hardly done when…did或用倒装句式Hardly had+主语+done when…did句式。hardly 所在的句子用过去完成时。 他一到北京就开始工作。
3. not only…but also如连接两个成分时,不用倒装;连接句子时,前面的句子要用倒装。 他不仅英语说得好,法语也说得好。
4. 在so…that, such…that句型中,若把so, such引导的结构放在句首时用部分倒装。 他如此害怕以至于不敢移动一步。
5. 省略了if 的虚拟条件句中,把were, had或should 放在句首时用部分倒装。 如果我是你,我就会接受这个工作。
6. 把副词so 放在句首,表示前面所说的情况也适用于另一个人或物。 我喜欢读英语,他也是。
7. 把neither, nor放在句首,表示前面的否定内容也适用于另一个人或物。 如果你不走,我也不走。
形式倒装
主语没有倒装,因句式结构需要把句子的宾语、表语或状语等前置。
1. 由what, how 引导的感叹句,however, no matter how 引导的让步状语从句中,把however+形容词/副词, no matter how+形容词/副词放在句首时。 不管他多晚,母亲都会等他回去吃晚饭。
2. The more…, the more…句型。 你锻炼的越多,你的身体会变得越健康。
3. 用于形容词/副词/名词/动词+as(though)引导的让步状语从句中。 注意:当表语为名词时,则名词前不加任何冠词;主谓并不倒装。 不管他怎么努力,他似乎总是不能把工作做到令人满意。
尽管他还是个孩子,但是他知道的很多。

One fine day, an old couple around the age of 70, walks into a lawyer's office. Apparently, they are there to file a divorce. Lawyer was very puzzled, after having a chat with them, he got their story.
This couple had been quarreling all their 40 over years of marriage nothing ever seems to go right. They stayed together because of their children, afraid that it might affect their up-bringing. Now, all their children have already grown up, have their own family, there's nothing else the old couple have to worry about, all they wanted is to lead their own life free from all these years of unhappiness from their marriage, so both agree on a divorce.
The lawyer was having a hard time trying to get the papers done, because he felt that after 40 years of marriage at the age of 70, he couldn't understand why the old couple would still want a divorce.
While they were signing the papers, the wife told the husband. “I really love you, but I really can't carry on anymore, I'm sorry.”
“It's OK, I understand.” said the husband. Looking at this, the lawyer suggested a dinner together, just three of them, wife thought, why not, since they are still going be friends.
At the dining table, there was a silence of awkwardness.
The first dish was roasted chicken, immediately, the old man took the drumstick for the old lady. “Take this, it's your favorite.”
Looking at this, the lawyer thought maybe there's still a chance, but the wife was frowning when she answer. “This is always the problem, you always think so highly of yourself, never thought about how I feel, don't you
