My Best Friend
Mary is my best friend. She is hard-working and interested in all the subjects we learn at school. She is really good at Chinese and English. Mary is very friendly. She is always ready to help others. So she gets on well with her classmates and friends. What’s more, she is outgoing. She enjoys taking part in all kinds of school activities. She enjoys dancing, and she also draws well. She often joins in competitions and has won many prizes. I feel proud of her as her best friend.
After this summer vocation, we may go to different schools for further study, but I’m sure that we’ll be good friends forever.

A Helpful Person in My School Life
I have met a lot of people in my school life. One of them is my good friend Emma. She is the best friend I’ve made in the class, who is always there for me when I am in need of help.
Recently, I found myself getting upset easily. I often complained about the stress and even couldn’t concentrate on studies. Emma noticed my problem and spent two hours with me one day, talking about her own stress and how she was dealing with difficulties. From her, I learnt that the only way to beat difficulties is keeping trying instead of complaining. And I felt much more confident to fight against them together with Emma.
“A friend in need is a friend indeed”. A good friend is who makes you happy when you are crying and strong when you are giving in, and that is Emma to me.

There are many people in my life who helped or are helping me now. I feel grateful to them.
Without their help, I can’t imagine how my life will be like. Among them, I should give my special thanks to Miss Wang who helps a lot with my English.
I remember the first day when I came to the school as a middle school student. I was short and shy at that time. Everything was new to me. What was more, my English was rather poor. I didn’t dare to speak or to answer the questions in class. I didn’t know how to learn English. Miss Wang saw what happened to me and she encouraged me to be brave and active in class and told me many useful ways to learn English. With her great help, I changed a lot in and after class and my English became better and better.
Thank you, Miss Wang. Thanks a lot. And I will learn from you and be a caring person. I will try my best to helpful.
补充：我心幕中的英雄(The Hero in My Heart)
There are lots of famous persons in the world and they are like stars in the sky. But the best lightest one in my heart is Liu Xiang. I think he is a real hero.
Many years ago, all the people in the world think that Asians are not good at running. However, Liu Xiang changed their minds. He got the first place! This was the first Asian to win 110m hurdles at the
Olympic Games. When Liu Xiang faced the other strong runners, the only mind in his heart was “I believe I can.” He ran like a flying horse. He tried his best. At last he won the Olympic championship.
There was a joyful atmosphere everywhere in China when we knew he won. We cried for his success. We can imagine how hard he worked to prepare for the race.
Liu Xiang is the hero in my heart. I hope he can do better in the 2008 Olympic Games. Good luck to you, Liu Xiang!
